8/28/15 - Work is continuing on the altar refurbishments.
8/12/15
8/5/15 - The pendants are now installed. Ceiling fans are going up this week. We're getting very close!
7/29/15 - The pendants are now being hung above the left side pews as well as in the vestibule and choir loft.
7/21/15 - Scaffolding has moved from the altar to the sides of the church now. Wiring work will now begin on all the center lights.
7/16/15 - A smaller pendant is being installed in the stairwell going down to the church hall. The lighting replacement in the vestibule continues....
7/15/15 - The first pendant chandelier is going up. The track lighting above the altar is now installed. Work is beginning in the choir loft with the removal of the old lighting and fixtures.
7/14/15 - The front two chandeliers are being removed and replaced with the first of ten new pendants. Above the altar, both the track lighting and fan is being installed. In the front vestibule, the ceiling lights are in the beginning stages of replacement.
7/8/15 - Work continues! The new lights have arrived. Chandeliers are beginning to come down from the ceiling.
6/24/15 - Scaffolding is up!
6/23/15 - Work has officially begun!

Scope of the Project:
The wiring in the church is the original wiring that was installed when Notre Dame was built in 1956. The wiring needs to be replaced, as do the existing light fixtures, for reasons of safety, energy efficiency, and strategic planning. Challenge and Cost: The estimated cost to complete the project is $200,000. Time Frame: A short capital campaign is being conducted starting in May and concluding by the end of June. This short timeframe is necessary so the work can be conducted over the summer and be completed by the beginning of September. |
